Floral Arrangement Instructor Wanted
Experienced florist wanted to teach hands-on techniques, and inspire students of all ages to the amazing world of flowers. Each week you will be responsible for sourcing supplies and buying flowers and greens for each student.
- Class begins with you explaining the names of each flower and green you plan to use that week.
- Demonstrate the particular greening you will utilize and how a piece can be defined well before a single stem of flowers is added!
- Talk the class through the process as you insert floral elements.
The students work hands on, and you take time with each one as you move throughout the space to provide insight and design tips as they create their own piece. Over the length of the course, students should learn the styles of basic floral arrangements and bouquets. Examples include a one-sided arrangement, a tropical high style, an all around bouquet, a compact vase arrangement, a seasonal novelty etc. Explain the Principles of Design as well as techniques using florist tapes, wiring, oasis, florist frogs, chicken wire etc.
Classes run each spring and fall, one time per week, for 7 weeks consecutively.
Allow 2-2.5 hours per class plus set up and clean up.
