Make Cheese With Paula – Farmer’s Style Cheddar


Discover the magic of making your own healthy cheese and dairy products with no additives or artificial ingredients! Cheesemaking combines art and science, using regular pasteurized store-bought milk, and simple tools and ingredients.

Yes, you can make the most popular cheese in the world, right in your own kitchen! In this demonstration-style class, you’ll get to touch, taste and feel the art of making your own Farmer’s Style Cheddar. No experience necessary. More kits and cultures available for purchase at class time.

This classes uses vegetarian rennet. Dairy is used, and meat may be present for tasting and recipes.

Your instructor Paula Maddison travels all over North America to teach the joy of cheesemaking to cooking professionals and home cooks alike. She is a resident of British Columbia, and lives on Gabriola Island, near Nanaimo BC. Learn more at MakeCheeseWithPaula.ca.

This is a see/touch/taste demonstration-style class. Class is limited to 8 students in order to maintain social distancing during the class. All equipment provided. Students receive notes and supplies to make more at home.

COVID-19 Safety Statement: Protecting students and staff is our FIRST priority. Any in-person classes will only be offered in a classroom once all health and safety guidelines laid out by the BC Ministry of Health and/or WorkSafe BC can be met. All students will be provided with appropriate health and safety equipment for their class, including masks and possibly gloves. No student will be admitted to class if they appear to be sick. (Coughing, sneezing, etc.) Please come prepared to respect strict social distancing guidelines as laid out by staff. All workstations and high-touch contact surfaces will be disinfected between students using standard disinfecting products, by staff who are trained to follow a specific disinfection routine.
