About Instructor Kathleen O’Neill

Learning is better when you have an excellent teacher!  Kathleen’s combined passion for travelling and languages made becoming a TEFL/TESOL certified ESL teacher an easy choice for her.   Kathleen is fluent in both English and French.  Following Kathleen’s graduation from the Canadian College of Linguistics, she pursued her teaching career overseas in China.  For nearly four years she fully immersed herself into the culture and experienced firsthand the daily challenges of living as a foreigner with a language barrier. During that time, she took the opportunity to study Mandarin, where she could practise every day.  After teaching English to all levels from preschoolers to adults and privately tutoring students for international university entrance exams, Kathleen is back living in Canada and ready to teach you English!  Her encouraging teaching methods and outgoing personality will help you to speak confidently and professionally. Learning English has never been so easy and enjoyable.

Week 1: Advertising, Brands and Identity, and Customer Service
    • Become fluent using vocabulary around advertising and advertising channels in a Business English context.  
    • Practice the use of common adjectives to describe brands and identity, and the use of brand collocations (brand awareness, brand loyalty, etc…) 
    • Review the concept of a mission statement.  
    • Use vocabulary around customer service to express complaints, polite ways to complain, to request assistance and to use the 1st conditional to make threats.  
    • Be introduced to the use of common customer service phrasal verbs.
