This is the course for you!

In this online class, we will discuss:
– the role of workers, drones and queen bees in the honeybee colony.
– the equipment required to keep bees, including the costs involved in starting your own hive and where
to get bees.
– the rules for beekeeping in BC, including registering your bees, and the Apiary Inspection program.
-the responsibilities of a beekeeper over the course of a season including harvesting and extracting
honey.
-diseases and pest management.
-time for questions and answers

Paula Walton has been a beekeeper for the last five years and is the 2nd Vice President of the Langley Bee Club, as well as a member of the BC Honey Producers Association. Her love of animals and the outdoors lead to her first hive, which has since grown to several hives.
