Watercolour—for Beginner or Intermediate
Have you ever wanted to make your cards to send out for the holiday season? Now is your chance! Come check out our Painting The Season of Joy class! In this class you will explore painting Christmas themed cards with a flat brush, also called a chisel brush. You will develop the ability to manipulate the brush; control the angles and pressure changes create wonderful Christmas/winter images.
Supplies to bring:
½” flat brush (preferred brush = J Heinz 850 Series – Synthetic Sable)
Optional ¼” J Heinz 850 Series
You need a brush that has spring, if you aren’t sure if your brush is suitable please bring it to class. The instructor has extra brushes for you to try.
These brushes can be purchased through Opus or Island Blue Print Co. Ltd. in Victoria, BC
Watercolour paints and palette, water container, paper towels
If you don’t already have watercolour paints and are just starting out, the Prang Student paint set works wonderfully.
Bond paper, your printer paper is good
Series 400 Strathmore sketch book, 9 x 12
Strathmore watercolour cards
Either 140# CP or 90# CP watercolour paper (pads work well) or other watercolour paper you may have on hand
At least 12 watercolour cards (strathmore) or watercolour paper to make a dozen cards.
