This is an introduction to the popular computerized accounting program, QuickBooks(desk top version). After a general overview of the program, students will learn to create a Chart of Accounts, set up data files, make journal entries and back up data. Students will also learn Accounts Payable functions such as creating new Vendors, editing Vendor information, printing cheques and paying bills. Accounts Receivable functions will also be covered including creating new customers, entering sales, and recording payments. Payroll functions including creating employees, setting payment preferences and tax tables, writing cheques and processing government remittances will be covered. Students will also learn to generate basic reports.
Prerequisite: Computer Basics Level 2 and Bookkeeping knowledge. In addition, although not an absolute requirement, students should have a basic knowledge of bookkeeping or accounting.
Course fee includes a textbook and student version QuickBooks software.
A Certificate will be issued upon course completion.
