Description

Thinking of retirement? Perhaps in the next five years? Or, perhaps recently retired and floundering? Not sure what to anticipate in retirement? This course will assist the participant in preparing for the psychological changes that will occur in the transition to retirement. Retirement planning is more than money calculation. It also includes intentional thinking about direction. Your well-being in retirement will depend on a lot of things: your health, relationships, unique identity, as well as purpose and meaning in life. Each session includes thought-provoking exercises that you can process individually or with your partner. As you work your way through these tools, you’ll create a personal plan for a retirement that you are excited about.

Instructor: Doug Berg, Ph.D. and Certified Professional Retirement Coach (CPRC)

In 2017, Doug retired from 37 years as a professor and administrator in three post-secondary schools. He was looking forward to retirement but was surprised at how unsettling this transition became.

Now, it’s Doug’s privilege to act as a retirement coach, assisting others in anticipating the transition and thinking through who they are and where they might want to connect in retirement. He founded Retirement Thinking so individuals and couples would intentionally think about a purposeful path forward.
