Watercolour is unlike any other medium. This course takes the beginner student to the next level. Fundamental techniques will be reinforced and new, extended techniques will be explored as we work through in-class painting project. Pre-requisite: Any beginning level watercolour course. Some drawing ability is always helpful.

These are only suggestions.
Medium and large-sized round watercolour brush. No. 8 & 12 is a pretty good combination.
Large mop OR 1″ hake brush
Rigger or liner brush
Long-handled acrylic/oil fan brush (1″ wide) – make sure it is a cheap one because it will get cut up.
Any 100% cotton paper, cold-pressed or rough texture. Be prepared to paint no smaller than 7×10″. Full sheets of paper (22×30″) are recommended as they can be torn into smaller sizes and end up being a more economical approach in the long run. But the choice is yours.
I will be using the following but it is not necessary that you have the exact same brand or hue names.
Most standard 12 colour paint kits will do but you will need a tube of a dark neutral (i.e., Neutral Tint, Paynes Grey, Janes Grey, etc).
Hansa Yellow Medium
Permanent Alizarin Crimson
A closeable palette for your watercolours
Spray bottle (ie. empty bottle for sunglass cleaner is fine)
Small sketchbook (not bigger than 8×10)
Two containers for water
Small towel or kitchen sponge
