Kids Cake Decorating Class (Ages 7–11ish)

This One’s for You, Kids!

Let your child’s creativity take the cake! In this fun, hands-on cake decorating class, young bakers will learn how to decorate their very own 8-inch round cake from start to finish. Guided by an instructor, kids will explore the basics of working with real buttercream icing, including how to ice cakes and cupcakes smoothly, pipe borders, and add decorative designs.

Students will start by using their imagination to dream up a theme or idea for their cake, then bring it to life using professional tools and techniques. From wielding piping bags to adding the finishing touches, this class is designed to build confidence, creativity, and cake-decorating skills in a playful and encouraging environment.

All supplies are included – cakes, real buttercream icing, piping bags, decorating tools, fun decorations, and a carry box – so each child leaves with a beautifully decorated cake they’ll be proud to show off (and enjoy!).

Perfect for beginners and creative kids who love to get a little sweet and messy while learning something new.

Instructor Bio:

With years of hands-on experience in the baking industry, Tamara brings both professional skill and a passion for creativity to every class. She currently works in a bakery and has been designing specialty cakes for parties, events, and family gatherings since 2012. She holds a Professional Cake Decorating Program Certificate from the Pastry Training Centre of Vancouver and has completed Wilton’s Level 1 & 2 Custom Cake Decorating instruction. Her warm, encouraging teaching style makes learning fun while helping students build confidence and master the art of cake decorating.
