Payroll Fundamentals

Course Overview
During this practical, information-packed course you will learn step-by-step procedures for preparing and maintaining payroll records. You will learn how to calculate payroll including taxable, pensionable insureable amounts, CPP, EI and Income Tax and prepare remittances. You will also learn to prepare T4s and T4 Summaries and learn how to complete Record of Employment (ROE) and WCB documents. The course also includes a detailed review of Employment Standards rules, and WorkSafe BC requirements as they pertain to payroll.

All materials are included in your course fee.  Please bring a hand calculator to class. If you have selected a livestreamed class: please be advised the office will email you 1 week before the class starts to inform you when you can pick up your books. OR, should you require them to be mailed, a cost of $20 + GST in shipping through Canada Post will be charged. Please contact the office should you require this option no later than two weeks out.

Bookkeeping & Intro Accounting, or a working knowledge of Bookkeeping & Accounting
